From Sunrise to Sunset: A Sample Wedding Day Timeline

From sunrise to sunset (and beyond), here's a sample wedding day timeline to help you get started with your planning. Keep in mind that you can adjust it to fit your specific needs and the timing of your ceremony and reception.

Morning:

7:00 AM - Wake up and have a hearty breakfast.

8:00 AM - Hair and makeup appointments for the bride and bridal party (depends on how many people!).

11:00 AM - Photographer and videographer arrive to capture getting-ready moments.

Noon:

12:00 PM - Lunch for the bridal party.

1:00 PM - Groom and groomsmen start getting ready.

2:00 PM - Wedding dress and final bridal preparations.

2:30 PM - Bride and bridesmaids get dressed.

Afternoon:

3:00 PM - First look and pre-ceremony photos with wedding party.

3:30 PM - Guests start arriving at the ceremony venue (make sure bride is hidden!)

4:00 PM - Ceremony begins.

4:45 PM - Ceremony ends.

5:00 PM - Cocktail hour, maybe more photos with family members.

Evening:

6:00 PM - Reception doors open. DJ tells guests to take a seat.

6:15 PM - Grand entrance and first dance.

6:30 PM - Welcome toast and dinner service.

7:30 PM - Parent dances.

7:45 PM - Sunset photos for bride & groom (depending on time of sunset that day)

8:00 PM - Dancing and mingling. Can do bouquet toss & garter toss.

9:00 PM - Cake cutting and dessert.

10:00 PM - Reception ends (check with venue on event end time)

10:15 PM - Reception send-off
